I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
